Off-colour Dungannon Thirds played second fiddle to a useful Limavady side in this Forster Cup match at Stevenson Park on Saturday with the visitors running out deserved winners on a 5-2 try tally. In the opening quarter Limavady scored twice to go 12 points clear before the resourceful Tony O’Hagan dotted down for Dungannon. That made it 7-12 before the visitors added another pair of tries to increase their lead to 7-22. Dungannon then lost a player to the ‘bin’ for a high tackle as the half time whistle blew.
The second half was much more even with Limavady scoring on the hour mark before Dungannon added respectability to the scoreboard with a try per Ian Green. Both Dungannon tries were converted by Zak Holmes.
